Joshua M. Taylor is a would-be multidisciplinary artist and cartoonist who’s practice plays with clichés of highbrow and lowbrow, mixing and matching references taken from fine art, Saturday morning toons, niche internet fandoms and queer history to create a body of work designed with brutal honesty in mind – work often dealing with mental illness, sexuality, social dysfunction and maladaptation. Josh mangles cardboard, ruins all available surfaces and half-asses video editing programs to make an unholy mess, and will be continuing to do so in the Arts Mildura space. Expect uncomfortable eye contact, stylized cartoon violence and naked dog people, usually all at once.
