Violinist Paolo Tagliamento is one of Europe’s most highly awarded young performers, and recently won the 34th International Violin Competition Premio Rodolfo Lipizer. After studying in Cremona with Salvatore Accardo, Taglamiento is now based in Munich, Germany and collaborates with orchestras in Italy, Germany and Russia. He has received prizes as both a soloist and chamber musician, including two esteemed prizes awarded by Queen Sofia of Spain. He plays the Pietro Rogeri 1701, known as the “Milanollo“, once also played by David Oistrakh.
Guitarist Massimo Scattolin performs internationally as a as a soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestras. Composers Andrea Morricone, Astor Piazzolla and Violet Archer have written concertos for Scattolin. He has worked with the main European television networks, has released more than 45 recordings, regularly takes part in international festivals and is described by critics as being one of the best guitarists of our times. For the last few years Massimo Scattolin has been increasingly involved in composing, for solo guitar and also for symphony orchestra.
Taglamiento joins Scattolin in a program of works written by virtuosi, to be played by virtuosi, and perfectly suited to the superb acoustics of the Wentworth Town Hall.
